Soumya Prasad
Research Associate (National Environmental Sciences Fellow)

Dr. Prasad is a research associate at the Centre for Ecological Sciences, Indian Institute of Science (Bangalore, India) and Nature Science Initiative (Dehradun, India). She is also a visiting scientist at CSIRO (Atherton, Australia) and an adjunct faculty at National Institute of Advanced Studies (Bangalore, India).

Her recent research has focused on identifying seed dispersal networks in tropical dry forests and assessing the role of ruminants as seed dispersers. She has also studied the spread of invasive plants by native frugivores and examined disruption of dispersal processes due to fruit harvests.

Geetha Ramaswami
Research Associate , CES. IISc

Dr. Ramaswami is interested in looking at how invasive plants invade new landscapes  and how they affect resident plants. She is currently working on how dispersal processes affect management of invasive species in protected areas.

Sachin Sridhara
PhD student, James Cook University

Sachin Sridhara is largely interested in applied animal ecology, ecological interactions (specifically seed dispersal) with a special focus on ungulates. He is also keen to understand how human activities alter dynamics of plant and animal communities.

Mohan Chandra Joshi
Project Assistant

Mohan Chandra Joshi largely interested Bird behavior. He is also keenly interested in nature conservation program with locals and school children of Uttarakhand.'

Harish Prakash
Project Assistant

Harish Prakash is primarily interested in behavioral ecology. He is also keen on understanding how social interaction in primate groups may affect their ecological functions.

Priti Bangal
Project Assistant
Priti Bangal has worked on avian diversity and distribution before joining this project. It kindled her interest in interactions of birds with their environment. She is interested in the dispersal services provided by birds and the distances to which they are capable of carrying seeds. This is particularly interesting to compare between natural habitats and human modified landscapes as more and more natural habitats face the threat of modification due to human pressures. She is currently working on the seed dispersal networks inclusive of frugivorous birds and large terrestrial fruit eating vertebrates.
